Privacy

Short version: this site collects your email address if you give it to me, and nothing else.

What I collect

If you join the mailing list, I store your email address, when you signed up, and whether you’ve confirmed. That’s it.

To stop bots from flooding the signup form, the server also keeps a one-way hash of your IP address combined with the date. I never store the IP address itself, and the hash is deleted automatically within a few days.

Double opt-in

After you sign up, you get one email with a confirmation button. Nothing else is sent until you click it. If you never confirm, your address is deleted automatically after 30 days.

Why

To send you the newsletter: new releases and occasional updates. I don’t sell, rent, or share your address with anyone.

Who handles it

Google Firebase hosts this site and stores the mailing list. Resend delivers the emails; it receives your address only to send them and to report bounces or spam complaints, so I stop mailing addresses that don’t want or can’t receive mail. Neither uses your address for anything else.

No tracking

No analytics, no cookies, no ad pixels, no third-party scripts. The emails have no open or click tracking either. The fonts load from Google Fonts, which sees your browser’s request the same way any web server would.

Unsubscribing and deletion

Every email has an unsubscribe link: one click and you’re off the list. I keep a record that the address unsubscribed so it’s never mailed again. To have your address deleted entirely, email joseph@josephbennett.ink and I’ll remove it.
